Greetings Members of our Federation Family,

Looking back on this year's NFB of Iowa convention has many found memories
for those of us who were there. If you missed it, you really did miss an
exciting convention.

Let us consider some of our firsts this year.

Of course this was our first attempt at a virtual convention. It had a few
problems but for the most part it went exceptionally well. One area of
concern for us going into the convention was voting but I believe that the
system we used for voting may well be as good of system as we could have
done virtually or in peson.

Who would have believed that we could have fifty-fifty raffles that would
have allowed us to raise close to $500 for the affiliate and the same amount
for the winners. Sharonda Goode does an excellent job of things like this
and she made it work.

Of course we had a well balanced agenda with things for everyone and a
banquet that was certainly memorable.

I have checked on other state conventions this fall and one thing that
really stood out for ours was the contributions ofJoe Goode plugging in
crowd noise, applause and other convention sounds that added to the
atmosphere.

Thanks to the people mentioned and all of the officers and convention
planning committee this year's convention is one that will go down in our
history very well. Did I mention of number of door prizes and their
excellent quality?

At any rate, we need to be proud of how our convention came off and we now
have to raise our standards even higher for the years to come.

Bob
