[Tn-talk] Convention Info for the National Federation of the Blind Tennessee

Dear Federation Family and Friends:

 

I'm proud to announce that in 2016 our state convention will be held April
1-3 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at the Clarion Inn, 2227 Old Fort Parkway.
Rooms

will be $89.00 per night and includes breakfast.  Call

the Blind Tennessee.

 

I'll never forget the first time I went to a national convention in 2007, I
was blind and traveling alone, and was amazed at the end of my first day
when

sitting down at the bar to get some dinner, to find a blind scientist to my
right who worked on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, a blind public
television

producer to my left, and on the other side of him, a very successful blind
lawyer.  It really changed my opinion of what I thought it was possible for

me to do and I believe helped me to take on a very challenging job in road
safety with TDOT.  I don't think I would have had the self-confidence to
apply

for the position otherwise.

 

The mentoring and knowledge you can gain at the National Federation of the
Blind Tennessee's state convention is outstanding.  Please come join us to
learn

about what's going on in the blindness field throughout the state and the
nation. Preregistration is $15 while registering at convention will be $25. 

Banquet payment before March 15 will be $25 and $35 during the convention.
