David Andrews's response to your question regarding the Internet 
Explorer download dialog window is correct.  Your high-speed modem may 
also have a built-in speed test which can tell you the upload and 
download speed.  With my Westell 6100 modem I open the following URL
192.168.1.1
Your modem will ask you for a user name and password; I think they may 
use admin as the default user name and possibly the word password for 
the password, but my memory is a bit hazy on this fact.  You may have to 
check with your ISP from whom you got your modem if you're not sure of 
the modem's username and password.  Once you obtain this information 
enter it and there should be a dialog which will allow you to change the 
username and password.  Once you do this, you will be at a screen with 
various menu options.  In this screen it may tell you your current 
upload and download speed.
