Hi nancy,
I could have used such a work station while traveling to Florida last week.
I used the Sanabel island library to check email on my trip. They did not
have an accessible work station, though I did not expect them to have one.
It would have been more convenient than getting a user id and password to
use their network. I am not complaining, mind you, I was happy to have a
connection. I am sure that there are others who would also benefit from
such a system, whether they live there or are travelers, like me.
J.J. of Blind Bargains and the NFB of Kalamazoo has done something similar
in that he has gotten the Kalamazoo library to install accessible equipment
including a KNFB reader that can be checked out for use in the library. You
can contact him through Blind Bargains (blindbargains.com). I have copied
him on this message.
Hope to see you in Orlando.
warmest Regards,
Fred.

Subject: [Trainer-talk] Library workstations equipped for blind people
Nebraska got a grant that equipped several libraries with ADA compliant
workstations. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get them used?
Have any of you seen any successful programs to promote the use of these
workstations by blind people?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
