Chip, any time I recommend a Mac for a client, I base the recommendation heavily on what they need to accomplish with there computing needs.
Recently, I had a professor, who wanted to lecture from the classroom, and used the zoom utility in conjunction with voiceover, so I knew she'd have access to office for mac, as well as the iWork suite of applications.
As it stands iWork is extremely accessible but can definitely lack some power features of the Office suite. Unfortunately, office for mac is currently not accessible with Voiceover.
If your client needs basic word, access, as well as access to spread sheets and presentations, then the Mac would likely be ok. If they need advanced access to things such as creating tables and creating formulas in Excel, then ultimately, I still am able to accomplish these tasks easier on a PC.
