Try Optic Book from Plustek!  You can scan books with this thing without 
having to take the covers of the book off.  It scans pretty fast too.  I 
would recommend the OpticBook 3800 although there is an Opticbook 4800 too. 
The latter has the fastest scan time, but since it's new, it costs about 
$700Plus to $800Plus.  The former is in the $200Plus range.
