Greetings all,

My name is Nikki Jackson and I am new to the list, but not new to the
NFB. I am originally from Georgia, however, I now reside in Baltimore
MD. I was recently hired as an adaptive technology instructor for a
structured discovery training center and this is a job I am slowly
beginning to love. I never imagined that I could teach technology, but
things seem to be working out thus far. Although I love working with
students and watching them progress in the class, sometimes I still
feel very unsure of myself in regards to my teaching style and
technique. My background is in speech communication and I just learned
how to use adaptive technology about four years ago at LCB so I am
constantly second guessing myself because I lack experience in many
areas. I really want my students to get as much as they possibly can
from their training and graduate with a desire to further their
knowledge in technology. How can I do this effectively? Are their any
trainings, workshops, or webinars that can help me? What are some of
your strategies and techniques when teaching? I apologize for
rambling. I'm just looking for a little guidance because this is
something very new to me. All suggestions and advice are welcome!

Peace,

NJ
