The recommend the iPhone f5 or newer for the KNFB reader app, though I
would suggest the 5S at least. This will, as Nancy pointed out, somewhat
future proof you for more years going forward as it relates to getting iOS
updates. The 4S is currently at its end of life for upgrades, as iOS 8
seems to run rather sluggishly on it, which means the 5/5C will be in that
position next year.
Nancy is also right in that a lot of the prepaid plans and/or companies do
not support the newer iPhones. I tend to disagree with those who say a two
year contract costs more over time, simply because, I haven't noticed any
difference in what Verizon Wireless or AT&T bill you with or without a
contract.
