I know that many of you have worked with outstanding students in the past that are now in the workforce. I would greatly appreciate it if you could scan your memories for the students that stood out as rock stars. The mission of the SAS accessibility team is to enable people of all abilities to access the power of analytics. We are creating innovative technology that enables students and professionals with disabilities to analyze data, gain insights that drive scientific discovery, and make timely informed decisions in the business world. As a tester on the SAS accessibility team, you will use your knowledge of users with disabilities, accessibility standards, and assistive technologies to improve SAS products, documentation, training, and support materials.
Primary responsibilities:

• Test SAS products during development and report accessibility defects using SAS’ defect tracking system.
• Share test results with customers using the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) and similar forms.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to create interactions that delight all SAS users.
• Collaborate with development and product managers to prioritize accessibility defects and features.
• Collaborate with technical writers to share information with end users in the form of product documentation, videos, and/or white papers.
• Share your accessibility subject matter expertise with SAS RD staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• Excellent working knowledge of at least one screen reader such as VoiceOver, JAWS, or NVDA.
• Intimate understanding of the ways that people with disabilities use technology.
• Excellent working knowledge of accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or the Section 508 Information and Communication Technology Guidelines.

• Familiarity with agile development practices and testing techniques.
• Excellent written communication skills and a proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in writing.
