Macfortheblind.com is a great resource. Also, the National Braille Press
sells a book by Janet Ingber covering using the Mac with VoiceOver,
along with a Mac quick reference card. Here are the relevant links.
Mac Quick Reference Card: $8.00

Everything You Need to Know to Use the Mac with Yosemite and VoiceOver
(MAC-YOSEMITE) $22.00

I can understand why you might have found learning the iPhone easier
than the Mac. Apple did a fabulous job regarding the touch interface
with iOS and so using a trackpad, as others have suggested, may help
with your transition to the Mac. However, some of the Mac's keyboard
commands, compared to what you find with Windows screen readers, can
seem a bit odd to new Mac users.
I would also recommend signing up with various Apple-related mailing
lists, such as the Peel the Apple list, which covers both iOS as well as
OS X.
