I agree with the Braille Plus 18 being a much less than stellar product. If she does not have good braille skills, the Voice Sense may be an option, but the VoiceNote more closely resembles the key command structure found in the BNS. If she is better at typing on pwerty keysboards, there's always the Voice sense qwerty. I'm not sure if the VoiceNote has a qwerty model, but the braille note does have one.
The braille pen 12 is good for the very basics like texting as someone someone pointed out previously.
