[Trainer-Talk] Jaws vs Apple

Let me provide one example of how, for some using windows with a third party screenreader allows them to be more productive then on an apple device. That example is table navigation. Unless I'm missing something, which is definitely possible, table navigation with VO on the mac is rudimentary at best. Whereas, on windows it is much more efficient. With jaws skipping around a table, finding the row and column desired without having to read everything else before and after is a huge productivity boost.
It is my opinion, that for the average home user apple devices do quite nicely, however in many school or work situations windows with a third party screenreader is far more efficient.
Furthermore, I think the days of relying on one platform and screenreader are behind us. In my day-to-day life of managing school and taking care of my children I use the mac, iPhone and Windows with Jaws or NVDA, and multiple web-browsers to be productive.

In stead of using a aftermarket program to provide boys over functions iOS Apple on phone and pad build this accessibility feature into the operating system upfront which means voiceover will work with any program that can be run on the iPhone or iPad. And interesting observation is that I don't see many questions about Apple on the trainer talk possibly this is because Apple has an incredibly good assessability help line where you can call them and they will tell you how to resolve your issues. Additionally now with the iPad Pro smart keyboard pencil touchscreen Siri lots of memory it just doesn't seem to be reasonable to spend more money on a standalone computer and jaws programming when the iPad Pro group provides a much better bang for the buck.
