I agree with Nancy that contacting your state's assistive technology act
program is a good direction on this issue.

Hello

It partly depends on which hand can be used. There are some keyboards with
arrow keys or a numeric keypad to the left of the keyboard. There is a
Mateja's keyboard that allows the to be used as a modifier key making the
keyword produce a mirror image of the letter press, for example, F would
press Jay.

One thing I would recommend would be to call your states assistive
technology partnership. Each state has one, although it may not be called
that. They may have a selection of keyboards to look at. There is also one
called the frog, although I have never figured it out.

Most of my clients have simply decided to use one hand on a regular
keyboard. They put their hand on the middle, so that the index finger is on
either the ass or the Jay. From there, they move it which ever direction is
needed. With jaws and NVDA, we also tend to use the laptop keyboard layout.
That means there is less movement of the one hand required. It works best if
they have at least minimal use of the other hand for the jazz or NVDA key.

introduced this keyboard to someone who could use both hands but wanted to
be able to type while simultaneously reading Braille. They were able with
practice to type at 30WPM with the keyboard.
