All the help tips submitted so far are good. I also encourage students to
align their hands with the phone, especially if they want to hold the phone
in one hand and gesture with the other. A right-handed person can quickly
touch the edge of the phone with the little and ring fingers, and a
left-handed person can use the thumb. Good hand alignment on almost any
task makes a huge difference.

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] ipfone difficulty
Hello,
I have been working with my student on her apex for a couple weeks and she
seems to be getting it down. However, she mentioned to me that she has an
iphone but her gestures are not being recognized. She can tap and double
tap, but she is having difficulty swiping. She indicated that she is having
difficulty swiping straight across the screen and has a tendency to swipe
diagonally. I am relatively new to Ios myself and am not sure how to help
her with this. Therefore, has anyone experienced a similar situation with
their student? If so, are there any techniques I could try that might help
her get the swiping motion down? We are working via phone, so I am not there
to feel her hand, I'm just going by what she told me she is having
difficulty with. Any suggestions on techniques I could try?
Thank you,
Kelsey Nicolay
