[Trainer-Talk] Jaws run time error

Hello All,

 

I am running windows 7 home premium as my operating system.  I am trying to
update my jaws to the latest jaws update.  I am using jaws version 18 home
edition.  I am trying to update to jaws 18.2530.

 

I have tried it both ways downloading the update and then doing it through
the jaws update menu as well.

 

It goes through the download process fine.  When it installs it gets to
about 40 percent.  Then I get the following error
message---------------------------

JAWS Setup Package Error

---------------------------

The JAWS setup package could not install the required component RuntimeJAWS.
The process will now exit.

---------------------------

OK   

---------------------------

 

Then when I press the ok button I get the following text listed below as
follows.

The following updates could not be installed: 

   - JAWS 18.0.2530

 

I have contacted Freedom Scientific and they told me the following listed
below.

1.       After a failed install, go to Installed updates.  Search for
KB2999226 to see if it is installed.  This check is for diagnostic purposes.

2.       Reboot the computer.

3.       Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 and download
the correct installer for your operating system.  The installer is the
Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows.

4.       Run the installer.  Ensure that it completes successfully.  A quick
way would be to go to Installed Updates and search for KB2999226.

5.       Restart the JAWS installer.  

6.       JAWS should install correctly.

 

The update listed above is installed successful on my computer.

 

Has anyone had this problem if so, how did you solve it?

 

I would appreciate any information that you may be able to provide in this
matter.
