[Trainer-Talk] reboot IPhone

Bridget,
That idea of six months does not sound right.
I know it’s a trek. But when you can, I still suggest going to an apple
store.
Even if the phone does not last long, you can at least get your critical
contact info back.
I keep info like this in more than one place. I never count on technology,
particularly phones, to keep it.
My advice is you retrieve the information and write it down in braille.
I also think an ipod touch would serve you well once you can afford it.
You do not need a data plan for it, just wifi if you desire to read or
retrieve things online.
Once you download content though like books or music, you can listen a while
without the internet.
The ipod touches sell for under 200 bucks.
Good luck.

Update: I called Apple disabilities and told them my situation and what
trouble shooting I did. he basically said it was dead. A possible battery
replacement could be done if a battery could be found but it may only extend
the phone another six months if I was lucky. He did recommend the ITouch
since I do not use the phone but I don't have that money. and the diabetic
blood monitor has to be an IPhone 7 or higher. Which I also cannot afford.
I just wanted to make sure I did not miss a check or hack to bring the phone
back to life. thank you all for your suggestions and ideas.

Lincoln Nebraska doesn't have a "apple" stoer either but we do have an Apple
reseller who does quite a bit of service. Another suggestion might be a
place like PhoneFix USA or Cellular Planet. I would try asking Google
"nearest place to get iPhone fixed". You might be surprised what comes up.
I know my retailer was able to restore the operating system on a phone that
got corrupted soon after we purchased it.

store is over 45min away. do you think ATT can help?

Bridget,
I believe that all hope is not lost. The first thing that I would do is to
find your nearest Apple store and take the phone there. It is likely that
one of their service reps will be able to revive it. While you may not have
backed up your phone, it is possible that backups were being made if the
iCloud backup feature was enabled. It is possible that this was done when
you first set up the phone. Regardless, see what a rep from the Apple store
can do. I do believe it's likely that they can restart your phone.
Assuming this is the case, ask them to check to see if iCloud backups are
already enabled. If they are not, ask them if they could ensure that they
are before you leave the store. Once this is enabled, your phone will
automatically back up critical data on a daily basis to iCloud when it is
locked and plugged in.
I wish you the best with this. Please let us know what happens.

Hi, I have an IPhone 5C. the power button is broken. I was getting a new
app and listening to the tutorial and my battery died completely. I cannot
get it to charge again. I tried 3 different outlets and 2 different cords
and my laptop to charge it. so I thought I would try to reboot it but my
power button doesn't work.
I had found a way to turn the phone off through accessories but with the
phone dead I cant use that.
I never backed up my phone, of course. And I have info on there and only
there. some the only contact I have with some people and no clue what their
info is in my head.
Do I have any reasonable hope of getting my info back or rebooting it?
Also, I do not have a data plan. I never used it as a phone. I just used
it for apps and text.
Thank you for your time.
