[Trainer-Talk] OneNote with JAWS

Hi Dean,
The version of OneNote that you are using is definitely important. Somehow I still have two versions on my computer, one called "OneNote for Windows 10" (which is the one that JAWS reads, and one called "OneNote," (which does not work well with JAWS. I feel like OneNote 2016 was one of the good versions at the time it was current but don't know how it interacts with more modern versions of JAWS. That might be a question for FS tech support or Microsoft DAD.

As for accessing OneNote, even the accessible versions, navigation is quite different from other Office apps. I rely heavily on shortcut keys to switch pages, sections, and notebooks. Microsoft's support pages are pretty good. Here is one page about performing basic tasks with a screen reader. It also links to other OneNote + Screen reader relevant help topics:

I hope this helps. If I can answer any more specifics of what it should behave like, please let me know.

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] OneNote with JAWS

Hello. I have heard of people loving OneNote. I had the occasion to look at it yesterday with a student, and couldn't see how to access it. He's using
2016 with JFW 2019. I thought I recalled seeing an FS webinar on the topic, but not so, at least not in 2019 or 2020. I doubt we'll be able to install 3rd-party scripts.

Any suggestions on this?

Dean
