I went to World Services for the Blind in 2018. I spent a year and a half looking for work after that. I didn't find anything. I did look hard for a job to. As for the Jaws certification. I found that learning as many of the short cut keys you can with Jaws will help tremendously. Also if you look at the help menu there is a subserve section after pressing the help menu in Jaws. Study that like crazy. When I was a student at World Services for the Blind. I studied that in my dorm room for almost 8 hours straight. Then reviewed 8 hours the next day. After that I took the certification test. I hope this helps.

Can anybody identify a hiring organization that gives any weight to one being certified or not with that certification? I'm not aware of any actual benefit that having that certification bestows.

If a person is determined to give FS some money for the certification, note that you can take the exam as often as you want to practice, by putting in bogus e-mail addresses. JAWS help provides the best tools for study.

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] Jaws certification test and World Services for the Blind

Hello all, I had a few questions for you. I have a client that might be sent to Arkansas’s World Services for the Blind for assistive technology training and certifications. She would like to take the Jaws certification test and we are working on ways to study for the exam. Are there any written resources or study materials that anyone has that can help me out? I am also trying to get Jaws certified and I would like a more structured way to study for the exam as the website is quite vague and not very helpful. If anyone has any tips tricks and any resources on taking and passing the test, it would greatly be appreciated.

Lastly, I would like to get any person’s experience with World Services for the Blind in Arkansas that I can relate back to my client so that she can make the best and most sound decision as to where she will go or not. Thank you all and I hope to hear from you soon.
