Thanks for all the suggestions. I had already gone to settings and made
sure that the gaming invite checkbox was unchecked. And that's partly why I
was so puzzled by the ongoing issue. I found the suggestion to hit windows
key + g helpful. That has not been a total resolution to the issue, but it
certainly gets me back to being able to type correctly in a quick second,
without needing to close all the programs I'm in, shut down my whole
computer, and restart. So again, thanks for the suggestions and tips.
Windows + G key combo is just what I needed for my particular case it seems.
