Hi,

I am the Assistive Technology Specialist for a university and we
have also noticed that there are some accessibility concerns with the
VitalSource Bookshelf as well. My student has said that even though the
VitalSource Bookshelf is supposed to be accessible, that they still have
trouble with navigating their textbooks. However, this student says they do
have a much better experience using VitalSource Bookshelf with Microsoft
Edge.
When we have tried explaining our concerns to VitalSource
Accessibility Support, they were dismissive about it and said they would
have to look into this problem, but that's the extent of it. My suggestion
is that we need for more people to report their concerns to VitalSource
Accessibility Support until they either resolve the issue to everyone's
satisfaction or report it to the NFB Legal Team at http://nfb.org/legal. We
need more people to report these concerns in large numbers until this matter
is resolved.

Subject: [Trainer-Talk] Vital Source bookshelf

Good day everyone and a very happy Monday.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and that you are all getting a good start
to the week.

I have a client who is needing to work with the Vital Source Bookshelf. He
is a JAWS user. According to the Vital Source web site all pdf and epub
formats are readable within their desktop reader. However, I have
downloaded a number of books with him and I am not finding them accessible
at all. If at all possible, could someone get in touch with me off list to
discuss this if you have experience using the Vital Source Bookshelf.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Kind regards, Nik.
