Hi All,

I am new to the group and looking forward to hearing from other AT
professionals. I have experience training clients in AT and test websites
for accessibility as well for a few customers. My son is visually impaired
and applying to a Math PhD program under a teaching assistantship at several
universities. He is not certain what the best approach for presenting to a
class would be other than using Power Points. When he writes on the board,
he needs to stand close in order to see the equations as he writes them.
Combined with the fact of being only 5 feet 6 inches tall, he is unable to
use the top half of the board. And when he is writing and looking extremely
close up, his students will not be able to see what he is writing until he
moves out of the way. Although people block the view to a minor extent when
working out math problems, they can point to the equations from a distance
in a natural manner.

Wondering what do visually impaired professors or teaching assistants use
for presenting? Looked at the Connect and it is not very responsive and not
sure if you can write with it and somehow share the screen. Planning to look
at the MagniLink TAB since he has used it with a laptop. Wondering if a Doc
Cam could be used with it so the students don't see just a magnified portion
of the material. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Best Regards,
