Kat,

Not knowing exactly how complex the flyer is, I'd recommend using Word.
It's perfectly fine for your typical reasonably simple flyer and is a very
capable desktop publishing program on its own.

There are certain things that MS-Publisher can do that word can't, but for
something like a single page flyer or even one you want to create that is
in a columnar format that can be folded, those can be easily create with
MS-Word.
