That suggestion might work. Try the portable version first to see what happens. Hopefully that might provide a little more as to what the issue is.

Hello. It sounds like the settings are not getting saved on exit. I know you mentioned not wanting to reinstall, but I wonder what the experience might be like if you install a portable version, close it, then restart the portable version. This will at least tell if the issue is with the AppData files in the permanent installation.

All,
I have a customer who is working in a radio station and unfortunately has to access an older Windows XP system to queue up programming.
We've installed NVDA 2017.3 which is the last version that supports XP.
NVDA is installed but once it loads for some reason speech is set to none.
I've set it to E speak and saved the configuration, but upon closing NVDA and restarting it reverts to no speech. I'm hoping not to have to uninstall and reinstall as this is a production machine.
Anyone have any ideas.
