I also agree with Showe Trela.
I recently retired after more than 15 years of tutoring assistive
technology, primarily screen readers, and stopped teaching Outlook Classic
to anyone who was not already familiar with it or going to be in a work
situation where it was the only option. It's going away, and it makes no
sense to set someone up to have to relearn the UI for Microsoft's email
client in 3 years, particularly if they're just using email, calendar, and
contacts in typical fashion.
It has been perfectly fine, and completely accessible, for the normal
day-to-day use cases that well over 90% of my clients actually have in
practice. What's going on now, behind the scenes, is the migration of some
of the more advanced capabilities that have been a part of Outlook
Classic for a long time over to Outlook (new). But how many of us really
use things like rules that trigger VBA scripts, as but one example of very
low frequency use advanced features?
Outlook (new) is somewhat different from Outlook Classic but a very great
many keyboard shortcuts that have been in use for decades are still
entirely supported. The adjustments are, in my opinion, minimal and can be
made in fairly short order.
Outlook (new) is both accessible and usable.
