Good afternoon everyone,

    Dogs entering or reentering the U.K. must undergo the same preparation 
to qualify for entry under the Pet Travel Scheme or if they're being 
imported from a non-qualifying country. Those that are imported from 
non-qualifying countries must spend six months in quarantine. Those what 
travel to the UK from PETS countries must travel on approved sea, rail, and 
air routes to avoid more intensive scrutiny upon arrival in the UK. Dogs and 
other animals arriving on unapproved routes from PETS countries must stay in 
quarantine until an early release is approved. Moral? Do your homework 
before planning to import your dog in to countries with quarantine 
regulations.

I think the issue is getting the dogs back into the UK.  Even for Citizens
of the UK, if they leave their with there guide dogs, the dogs need the
extensive testing required to get dogs into the UK.  This is assuming that
you are not taking a UK government approved route I believe.

The UK has one of the oldest Guide Dog Schools in the World.  A lot of there
trainers come her to help train dogs and clients.
