Thank you for posting this Maurice.

It is imperative that we all work on this. You may not travel now but you
might have to travel by air for something in the future. We all need to work
together for Congress to Hear us to work on this.

Being the Travel and Tourism Division, we can make a difference, so everyone
please use the template and write something.

If you need help, post on the list and we will try and help you the best we
can.

Officers please, lets work together to help the people who need the help.

Thank you.

Cheryl Echevarria, President
Travel and Tourism Division

Subject: [Travelandtourism] [Nfbnet-members-list] Comment on New
ProposedDepartment of Transportation Regulations Concerning Accessibility

    Dear Fellow Federationists,

As you may have heard, the Department of Transportation (DOT) has taken
an important step toward improving air travel for blind passengers. Â After
years of advocacy by the National Federation of the Blind, DOT released a
supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking on September 26 proposing updates
to the Air Carrier Access Act that would require airline Web sites and
automated airport kiosks to be accessible to the blind. Â DOT is seeking
feedback on the proposal, which can be found at
http://regulationroom.org/air-travel-accessibility/agency-documents/snprm/ .
We are urging everyone to comment.  As an organization, the NFB will be
submitting formal comments using the Federal e‑rulemaking portal,
www.regulations.gov.  However, regulations.gov is not fully accessible,
making it difficult for members to submit individual comments.  For this
reason, we ask you to submit your individual comments (a template is
attached to help you format your comments and provide you with some
suggested talking points) to airlines at nfb.org by December 31, 2011.  Please
include your mailing address in the email.  A staff person at the NFB
headquarters will submit each individual comment to the docket on
regulations.gov before they are due on January 9.  To request NFB’s
official comments or ask questions about the proposed rules, please send an
e-mail to airlines at nfb.org. Â
