NEWS ALERT: AMR Corp. - the parent company of American Airlines - and its
AMR Eagle Holding Corp. subsidiary just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
protection this morning (Tues., Nov. 29).

The carrier says it will continue normal flight operations and schedules
during the bankruptcy reorganization.

It's struggling with higher labor costs than other airlines and rising jet
fuel costs, according to a company statement. Until today, America was the
only U.S. legacy carrier that hadn't filed for bankruptcy protection in the
past.

American Airlines carries about 240,000 passengers every day, with five
major hubs (Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York).

If you book clients with American or its American Eagle regional feeder
division, you should monitor http://www.aa.com/restructuring for the latest
updates on the bankruptcy filing and any future impact on AA's operations.
