Good afternoon. Cheryl, your name sounds familiar-I think you
might be on the stylist list.
Anyway, my whole family has enjoyed travelling. Just like you,
we wish that we had more time! So far I've been to lots of
states, but I've never been out of the country. This summer we
might go to Costa Rica, and we will probably come to the Orlando
convention.
The main reason I want to visit Vermont is because it's a relaxed
community and there's lots of maple trees. I like where I live,
but when I grow older I want to live somewhere else. In
California, lots of things are happening at once, lots of
traffic, etc, etc. Therefore I want to live in a nice area but
in a small community where the pace is a little bit more relaxed.

Good morning Vejas:
I am Cheryl Echevarra, President of the NFB Travel and Tourism
Division. What I would recommend since you are 16 that possibly
to get you into traveling is to make sure your family is into
travel, since you are under the age you need to get them
involved. I loved traveling with my parents when I was a kid,
and now that I am a parent of a child who is 23, we try and
travel together as mother and daughter once a year, we didn't go
this year, new boyfriend and all, but we do love to travel.
And of course traveling with the hubby.
But to any your questions.
Thank you for joining us, I hope you are a member of the NFB and
possibly you belong to our student division. Maybe there are
other students that have the same interest as you.
Why do you like Vermont so much, give us your ideas of traveling
to there, maybe we can do Vermont in a future destination.
Are you aware that the division is hosting a group trip to Las
Vegas and the Canyons of the Midwest which include Grand, Bryce
and Zion Canyons, the Hoover Dam, Navajo Indian Nation, and so
much more, it is while you are in school though but it is during
meet the blind month from October 9-13, for those who are
thinking about it, we need you to make your 20% deposit after the
holidays. Preferably by the end of January, that is for the
Officers of the division as well, but if not, we need something
from you, like a time when you will be making deposits.
Many of our members who are not on the talk list have been to the
places that you are talking about, I hope you can come to the
National Convention in Orlando, FL this year. That is where we
have our Division meeting, we also have a monthly board meeting
that is opening to everyone.
We have a facebook page, and twitter page, and I am working on
getting us a website, which should be up and running by the end
of this month.
I hope those members of the talk list and the division can help
speak about the destinations you have been to.
Out of that list I have been to the Caribbean, from Puerto Rico -
Where my husband is from and we have a great Affiliate of the NFB
there. Also I have been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Nassau
(Bahamas). I have been to Bermuda, which is not part of the
Caribbean, and I will be going there a few more times this year.
Also Vejas, I host my own radio show on the WTOE Network, which
the www.thruoureyes.org, which is through the North East Chapter
of the NFB of New Jersey. I am in NY. The Show is the
Echevarria Travel Show and it is dedicated for the blind but we
have many others following the show, if you or anyone else would
like to view or listen to it, it is on my travel agency website.
http://www.echevarriatravel.com it is on my home page.
Enjoy the list, and hope to see you at the convention.

 Hi,
My name is Vejas. I'm 16 years old, and I'm in tenth grade in
California. I have a very strong interest in travelling, so
this
list really caught my eye. I want to travel to many different
 places.
The state I want to travel to most is Vermont. I heard they
have
 really good maple syrup!
Countries I want to visit (to name a few):
Lithuania Denmark Germany Belgium Peru Uruguay Sweden Greece
 Turkey the Caribean
Have any of you been to these places and have you liked them?
I'm really looking forward to joining this list.
 Vejas
