Southwest Airlines, which begins flying to Atlanta next month, said it will
add yet another route to its schedule: Atlanta to Los Angeles.

The Dallas-based low-cost carrier said it will begin flying once daily
between Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Los Angeles
International starting June 10.

That will be in addition to the three daily Atlanta-Los Angeles flights
already operated by AirTran Airways, which Southwest acquired last year.
Southwest is in the process of integrating AirTran's operations into its own
over the next couple of years.

Southwest has already announced a number of routes out of Atlanta. On Feb.
12, it will begin flying from Atlanta to Baltimore/Washington, Chicago
Midway, Denver, Houston Hobby and Austin. On March 10, it will begin flying
from Atlanta to Las Vegas and Phoenix.

Southwest first announced its planned foray into Atlanta when it made the
move to buy AirTran, which is the second-largest carrier at
Hartsfield-Jackson behind Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines.
