There are many, but I highly recommend Montrose Travel.
That is the one Maurice Shackelford is still with, many people because of the price of getting the CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) credentials which is over $300 a year, and the ARC which is for you able to book airfare, as well as for tax purposes that they stay as IC or independent contractors, which is what you want to be and not an outside agent.
2 different animals.
We are trying to get the people from Montrose to be on the Cheryl and Maurice Travel Show on the WTOE Radio sometime in the future.
They offer what I say is soup to nuts on training if you are a beginner all the way to someone like myself who has been an agent for years.
I might in fact go back next year to them.
You are your own agency, whatever you decide to name yourself, but when you are booking with the cruise lines or Disney, Land Destinations etc. You use there credentials.
You need to watch out because there are definitely some bad ones out there.
Being a member of OSSN, Outside Sales Support Network, they list all of the Host Agencies, you do not need to live in that state where the host agency is.
I live in NY and Maurice lives in GA, and Montrose is in CA
Just to give you some ideas and terminology.
We will go over some of these things on the radio show as well.
Remember it is the first Wednesday of each month, on www.thruoureyes.org at 8pm Eastern, and also the show are recorded and I have the current September show on my website.
If you are interested in Montrose Travel you can contact Maurice Shackelford at reservations at peachtreetravel.net

> I haven't posted to the list for several months but I spoke with you back then about getting into this business.

> If you or anyone else on this list can recommend an agency that I might be able to work with as an independent contract or consultant just so I can get my feet wet, please let me know. I will be happy to receive any feedback or suggestions.
