There is a response to Steve below.
Again, please reply all to the e-mail, we have posted many times on how to do this. I have stopped try to re-post this to NYAGDU and to Dr. Maurer and Mark Riccobono and other people who could help in this area. Maybe in the future, we all can try and do better at this, I have sent separately and on the list to help in how to do this, if you are not sure with your particular e-mail service, please ask, so that way we can help with these issues.
Also, this list is not as active yet, and I hope there will be a day when there is, that we need to have our e-mails batches, and only get a daily e-mail of all the topics, but at this time there isn't, we will have them monitored and keep track of the flow, and if we say, we have enough traffic, I will ask that it be brought to the monthly meetings for further discussion.
Thank you.Steve that is correct this is not just a blind issue, but this just pertain to everyone, who travels, that is why I post these topics, to get people talking and thinking, and for someone like myself who travels for a living, opposed to some of you, who just travel only a few times a year, I think these topics are very important.
But, we do have to think about this very carefully, with the smaller spaces, how are we suppose to sit and relax, okay the leg room is smaller, but many of us have to think about our canes, guide dogs, or maybe other issues, some of us have multiple disabilities, where it is imperative to sit at least to the point we can fit into the seat. We also shouldn't have to pay for the more leg room or expansion because someone is bigger than the next, that is discrimination.
They have made people who morbidly obese a disability, because, many of these people must use a scooter to get around, and other forms of alternative mobility tools.
We are not the only organization that sees issues with what the airlines are doing, that is why I post those stories and topics as well, they might not be blind related, but they do pertain to us, as people who travel.
Yes we are blind, but sometimes, we have to take the word blind out of the equation.
Peter has good points about the jets, but at the same time, many people do not have the finances to use these options.
