I guess it's become standard in the US to request help ahead of time. I don't and I never thought to worry about it traveling overseas. I just assume someone wil help, request politely, and it happens. Often more graciously than it happens here. For one thing, as a blind person traveling solo, it's generally assumed that you are somewhat priviledged to be able to afford  travel, and are more likely to be accorded respect because of that.

1. How can a blind person travel internationally independently? Will somebody help us fill out the immigration, and customs  forms on the airplane? Secondly, at the airport, they have kiosks for the passport machines. Will somebody help us with those? Those tend to be inaccessible.
