TABSters,
Please see the message sent by our fearless leader and state affiliate
president, and be ready to step up and participate this weekend. Harley is
our friend, our fellow TABS board member, and our colleague.
Thanks,

...Gabe

Be the Match Bone Marrow Drive

Attention members from Houston and surrounding Area,

I'd like to invite you to, of course, drop in our Youth Conference this
weekend, April 4-6 at the Doubletree Downtown at 400 Dallas St.

Particularly from 1:00-4:00 Pm Saturday afternoon, when our parents of blind
children will have their breakout session, in addition to a Newsline
training session, and several other important and innovative breakouts.

I am coordinating a special campaign with the Gulf Coast Be The Match
coordinator to hold a Bone Marrow Drive.

A student in our mentoring program named Harley Fetterman is a cancer
survivor who has recently been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome
(MDS). Most of you may recognize this as the syndrome TV personality Robin
Roberts struggled through most of last year.

Harley is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. He has been waiting for a
match for nearly six months.

Joining the registry is safe and easy, and no cost to you. All is needed is
some paperwork and a cheek swob.

If you are over the age of 18, and under the age of 55, you are welcome to
join Be The Match. I would appreciate your careful consideration about
joining this important cause.

Harley is attending the conference this weekend, and so is his family.

If you have questions, please email me privately off list:
Kflores at nfbtx.org.

Please excuse the somewhat off topic posting. We always say we are a family,
and so I'd like to see us band together to help this student in every way
possible.

Best,

Kimberly Flores
