Hi folks,
We are looking for volunteers for several events/activities the
Community Service division is doing throughout the national
convention. Below you will find all the necessary details on the
different volunteer opportunities. Please respond to me by Tuesday,
June 28, 2016 if possible on what you are able to do.
I can be reached either via email at dacia.luck at gmail.com or by phone
at (573) 289-2912. If you can’t let me know by the 28, please do let
me know at the very latest by Please only volunteer if you will be
able to keep the.
we need folks who would be willing to Marshal for our seminar (at
least 3), marshals for trivia night (at least 3) and five people to
sell granola bars.
Our seminar is located at wekowa 8 July 2, 2016, level 2 and marshals
would need to report by 6:05 to be ready for 6:15 registration. Their
job would be done by 6:40.

Trivia night marshals would need to report by 8:50 toPanzacola H-2
Ballroom, level 1 July 3, 2016
If we can get three additional marshals around 9:50 then that would
be awesome. Both crews would probably need to hang around until
about 9:10 and 10:10 respectively.

we will also need tabulators for trivia night.
These are folks who can read braille well enough to be able to read
answer sheets and will make sure that both correct and incorrect
answers are accurately recognized and marked.

Once this is done, they will tally correct answers and keep a
running score after each round.

Regarding the granola bars, we will be selling them for $1 a bar.
They can be sold anywhere you wish, including outside of general
session so long as the selling of them doesn’t disrupt the meetings.
Thank you for your commitment to volunteer, I look forward to hearing
from all of you. See you in Orlando!!

Dacia Cole

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create
obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life
you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
