Elizabeth,

I am so sorry that it has taken me a while to respond to you. Let me give
you the correct information you need regarding VR service services and
student services in Texas.

As far as receiving VR services in Texas, you do not need to establish any
residency. All you have to do is move to Texas and apply for services.

Neal, let me address the issue of school. Blind people who live in Texas
are eligible to receive a tuition waiver or exemption. However, you have to
meet the residency requirements of the school that you’re attending. Once
you do that, you can receive an exemption. If you do not meet residence or
requirements at your school yet, VR services can pay your tuition at the
rate of Any Texas public college. They will not pay more than in-state
tuition for you.

This may vary some from what was in someone else’s message, but this is the
correct information. If you need anything else, feel free to give me a call
at 281-824-4045.

I’m out of the office today, but I will be back in the office on Monday,
March 17.

Best regards,

Norma Crosby, President
