Hey, Vabs! Happy Friday! And happy, spooky season! As a friendly reminder,
board applications for the 2024 board of the Virginia Association of blind
students are due tomorrow at 11:59 PM!   Please make a copy of this
document and email  it, oce  completed,  to  agkelso1222 at gmail.com  in case
you’re on the fence, here are some reasons why you should apply for Vabs
board:
1. Leadership development ; this is a wonderful opportunity to work on your
collaboration and communication skills, as well as dive in to the role as a
leader. Leader ship is critical in every career in life, and you get to
learn from people who are leadership experts!
2. Networking opportunities: many renowned leaders in the Federation today
started out as leaders in their states at the student division level. You
get connected to awesome, bright, young blind students, and professionals,
as well as amazing leaders and mentors who want to  dive into you and help
you become the best version of yourself.
3. Community: you know that feeling of being in a room with other blind
people and everyone just gets it? Well, what about being  part of making
that happen for yourself and other students! Planning and running events is
an awesome way to meet new people, tap in  to your creativity, and have a
lot of fun!
