[vendtalk] Holiday Savings - i.d. mate Summit

Let me guess, you voted for Obama and the rest of his central government
control buddies. Everything in this world costs something, even for
the blind. I own a business, am totally sightless, use UPS and Fed Express,
and have worked out initial problems so that my deliveries are very
satisfactory. Their dependability is head and shoulders above the U S Post
Office. I once mailed a check to a customer and it took six weeks to
deliver, and the customer was two blocks away. Get real,

With the foregoing in mind, I suggest that any adaptive tech company,
recognizing the dire threat posed by privatized for-profit entities such
as UPS or FedEx that offer blind entrepreneurs little, leverage its
shipping expenditures by defaulting to UPS shipping when overnighting is
not a necessity. How many blind vendors are operating businesses on UPS
facilities? UPS's "service at our convenience" approach doesn't deserve
half the public support it gets. Try making a claim against them if
they lose or damage a package. I wonder how much less money the Feds
would spend propping up the Post Office if they simply moved their
package shipping needs to the Post Office. If products or components on
which federal funds are spent could also be shipped through USPS, its
implosion might be staved even further. If UPS weren't free to cherry
pick the package shipping component of mailing and had to observe the
"free matter" and non-profit shipping rates, the Darwinist idea that the
USPS demise is deserved would have some merit.

Cordially,
Bill
