Rhonda,
The first supplier is in Oklahoma (have a branch office in Dallas) and I get
mostly snack machine parts for Crane/GPL.  The second, HA Franz, sells other
manufacturers and usually has a large selection of parts on hand.  Either
can get the correct parts from the manufacturers and have them drop shipped
to you.  Both will sell coin mechs and related items.  For coin mech
repairs, we use number 3 below, S Thomas which sometimes sells refurb units.

Hi Ted,
Fixing machines yourself is usually fastest if you have or can get parts.
Coin mechs, jams, glass, locks, plastic parts, spirals, low voltage motors
and bulbs are the types I deal with on my own.
I caution about doing some types of repairs yourself.  I had a snack machine
that occasionally had strange problems and go away on its own.  Got it from
another manager and it was an older unit.  Anyway, it finally died so had to
bring in company from 180 miles away.  They could not repair on site and
took it away.  After several weeks got it back working.  Problem?  Someone
who was not qualified had repaired the power supply in the past and had
rewired the machine so that it did sort of function, but it left the machine
in such a manner as to pose a possible electrocution risk.  Might seem easy
to do, and maybe it works when you turn it back on, but some things are
better left to professionals such as power supplies.

Setaside in Montana is 5% on net proceeds (gross receipts minus cost of
product, labor costs & operating expenses).  Repairs are initiated by our
vendors using what ever is available locally, but only very rairly do they
go outside the operator themselves.  The operators will discuss amung
themselves problems they may be having cause sometimes if other operators
have had a like problem, they may have a solution.  If compressors are
needed, we generally get them from the vending machine manufacturer.
