Mike, so far there has been nothing in the law to regarding fake service dogs. This just gives us another tool to use if we're in a situation where there is a fake service dog pthe dog is out of control. Before, we didn't have much recourse. Now, the  police could be called and the person would be fined. No matter what, people are still going to try and get away with stuff, that's part of human nature, I guess, to push the envelope, so to speak. This law does no harm, and may help. I wish, while they were at it, they'd added more teeth (pardon the pun) to Leila's Law. That's the law that says if some dog or person harasses or attacks your dog, they may have to pay the cost of replacing the dog, and maybe some civil penalties. When I asked someone from the Spokane Police Department about this law, they said it would be up to Scraps, our animal control people to deal with it. But if I'm in a situation where my dog is being g attack, if I call anybody it would be 911. And who comes on 911 cabbl? The cops, generally. So it doesn't seem very effective to me.     Debby

That's nothing new, any service dog user should be able to give a credible answer. And if the dog is well-behaved I don't see what incentive police would have to fine us. Maybe I'm missing something?
