Let me add to Doreen's email that if you don't have a team to join, please consider joining the FL Parents of Blind Children (The link is the last after my signature). You don't even have to attend convention to participate!

You can invite your friends to join a team, form their own team, or donate to you or anyone else they desire. All proceeds go to promoting literacy. Our state parents group benefits from the March every year. The funds receive help us put on our parent seminars and Kids Convention at state (May for those of you in FL!)

Hi to all,
My 4-yr old daughter and I will be first time attenders at the convention in Detroit. I am encouraging everyone to join the 5K Walk for Independence ... or at least be a virtual walker if you cannot attend the convention. Donations will go toward NFB and your state chapters ... you can't lose!

It was very easy to walk thru the steps to sign up and personalize my page. I have also linked it to our blog.

Please take 5 minutes to sign up for the walk. Everthing is done for you ... you don't even have to think of what to say (my kind of website). Letters are already written, just cut and paste them and send them to your family and friends to get donations in your name.

Hope all of you will jump in and MARCH for INDEPENDENCE with us!!!
