Mike,
I did on online search for this article and found many that written by different news agencies. For some reason, American reporters haven't posted many articles. Most all were European news agencies.

I suspect that this is a hoax. I've never heard of a newspaper called
"The National Post". Also, links were not provided to the stories
supposedly run by CBS News and Reuters. Moreover, on-line petitions
aren't worth the time, effort and bandwidth needed to deal with them
because there's no way for those to whom the petitions are addressed to
verify that the signatures are valid. What's to stop one person from
signing time after time after time using different names and fake
Internet addresses?
