[blindkid] Canes and amusement park rides?

We've never had a problem with a straight, non-folding cane at amusement
parks. We give it to the attendant, with a reminder that we'll need it at
the exit point, and the cane is always there.

As regards folding canes: I was once with some teens at a local amusement
park, and one of them crammed his folding cane into his sweatshirt pocket as
he got on a Wild Mouse type ride. On one of the sharp turns, the cane flew
out of his pocket and the car, and landed way off. Fortunately it landed in
an unoccupied booth, or it really could have hurt someone. So, my suggestion
is to hand it off no matter what kind of cane it is.

Have a great time!
Pat
