Okay, I don't know what everyone else is doing so I will just tell you what we have been doing.
 
When Roman first started, he did not have an aide in Kindergarten.  He just went to his TVI and an aide took him back and forth (in another building).  When he went to 1st grade he started to get an aide in the classroom for specific things and he still went to the TVI.  By 4th grade she only really helped him in science and math.  Between 5-6 grade we have been weaning her off.  Now that he is in 7th grade she is only in math and science again, but only when something speciffically  is needed.  Like doing a new concept of graphing in math (usually TVI and not aide for this) and maybe some intense hands on science project.  He has gotten to the point where he really does not have the aide but a few minutes in the week.  But when he was younger it was nice so that he did not miss out on what the teacher was doing.
