I want to comment on Jen Dunnam's experiences:

I, too, was a shy teenager.  But I learned to adjust, coping with what I
had.  I had to do things I could do, and not let life's pressures get to
me.  I learned to go around to my classes independently, interact with
sighted kids, and get out of my shell.  Coping with this also meant going
on a few field trips.  I spoke on panel discussions, both at North Torrance
and at a few schools.

And I was subscribed to the Braille Monitor.  And after high school, I
wanted to learn more about the Federation.  

If Jennifer's on this list, thank you.  I love Facebook.  And making
friends.  I thied to at lunch and at chorus.
