I have successfully toilet trained my toddler who is blind. Our goal was 3 years old although he had had a potty seat for a long time before that. Elmo potty is a great book to keep in the bathroom(it has buttons that make various sound effects). We did snowcaps for rewards. He got one for trying and two for any success. Also we talked a lot about it and he got to switch from a crib to a big boy bed when fully trained. Finally we just put him in big kid underpants whenever we were home and after a few accidents he started to catch on. Hope one of our methods might be helpful to you.
