Florida offers a wide range of educational choices, including charter, magnet and virtual schools, home education and scholarship programs, as well as special programs in traditional public schools, to meet the needs of every child.  Join the Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice at the Florida Department of Education to learn more about Florida's School Choice Programs. 

Lead Presenter:  Yolanda Miranda-Hill,  
Charter Schools Project Manager 

Yolanda began her career with the Florida Department of Education, Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice (IEPC) in 2004. She is currently the project manager for the Charter School Office. Her other positions have included grant manager for a federal program where Yolanda worked with school districts to create, expand, and improve public school choice opportunities in Florida. She served as a Scholarship Program Regional Manager supervising the compliance eligibility process for private schools interested in participating in the John M. McKay and the Florida Tax Credit Scholarships Programs. In her role as the IEPC's School Choice Outreach Coordinator, Yolanda's commitment was to inform Florida's parents about the educational opportunities offered to their children.
