Richard,
Here's a suggestion. Two years ago our daughter started Middle School and we were concerned about her making new friends. Her birthday wasn't until March so we decided to have a Halloween party and invited ever kid she had in her 6 classes knowing that only 10% would possible show and numerous were in the same classes. Surprisingly the one's that showed had already seen something in Victoria they liked and by the time the party was over she had some new friends. It allowed them to see into Victoria's world and see that she is no different than them. Even those that didn't become close friends, had a new respect for Victoria and would stand up for her without her knowing in the hallways against the older kids, which we were told by her teachers.

I can’t think of how a socializing / friend making discussion or presentation could work in a seminar, but that sounds interesting if someone has a workable plan. There must be some helpful strategies out there. We face that challenge frequently.
