I have, and it works really well. If you instruct GPT properly, it can do a fairly good job of converting content into accessible HTML.
One thing I've found is that the quality of the output depends heavily on the prompt. When prompting, try to take everything into account, such as what you want done with images, tables, lists, equations, and how you want headings to be structured.
For example, I've found that asking GPT to make each question a heading can work really well, especially when there are multiple sub-questions under a main question. It makes navigation much easier with a screen reader.
You can also specify the type of image descriptions you want. Depending on the material, you might want brief descriptions, detailed descriptions, or descriptions that focus only on information relevant to solving the problem.
In my experience, the more specific you are about the structure and formatting you want, the better the results tend to be. It may take a few attempts to refine the prompt, but once you find a format that works for you, the conversion can be surprisingly accessible.

Has anyone tried taking a PDF download of a math book, otherwise, not very
accessible to the blind, and having a chat bot, like Chat GPT, convert it,
chapter by chapter, into accessible HTML?



It's an experiment I might try, but I wonder if any of you have played
around with this.
