The Mayor and City Council appoint individuals to 26 different committees,
councils and commissions. Members of these bodies offer recommendations,
provide advice and feedback on issues including land use, parking, parks
and recreation, transportation, housing, and other issues facing Vancouver
and the greater region.

Each individual board and commission is tasked with one or more purpose
(regulatory, policy-making or advisory).

The 2026 Fall application will open on August 1. A supplementary
recruitment for the Parking Advisory Committee will open on June 15 and
close July 15. For more information about upcoming openings, go to the

How to Apply
The 2026 Application will open March 1 and close April 15. Please see the
Current Openings for a list of boards with upcoming vacancies.

In appointing members, the City Council strives to balance diversity of
perspective and experience. The City is committed to promoting diversity in
its boards and commissions. Women, persons with disabilities, sexual and
gender minorities, young people, senior citizens, and persons of color are
encouraged to apply.

application.

2. By mail: Print off an application and mail your application to:
