*🚨 **Three Ways You Can Support Transit in Our Region** 🚨*

Many of you have asked how you can support public transit in our region. If
you want to help, here are three ways to make a difference:

*1. Ride transit and invite others to ride, too*

Every ride matters. When you choose transit, you help demonstrate its value
and support a transportation system that connects people to jobs, school,
healthcare and the places they want to go.

If you have friends, family members, coworkers or neighbors who have not
ridden recently, consider inviting them along for a trip.

If you're on social media, posting videos of your transit trips is a great
way to promote ridership as well, and we might share your post!

*2. Share your story with elected leaders*

Local, state and federal leaders make important decisions about
transportation funding. Let them know why transit matters to you and how
service reductions would affect your life, your family and your community.

Personal stories help decision-makers understand the real impact of transit
investments.

*❤️ Bus Driver Finds Missing Man ❤️ *

While driving his route, TriMet bus operator Kunchok Lama spotted a man
walking along the road and thought he looked familiar. The man had been
reported missing a couple days before, and the operator knew him through
Portland’s Tibetan community.

The operator stopped the bus, got out to speak with him in Tibetan, and
helped connect him with first responders and his caregivers.

Because he recognized him from a distance, spoke his language and took
action, a missing man was reunited with his family.

We’re proud of the compassion, awareness and care our operators bring to
the job every day.
